After some thinking, I decided to do some posts about amazing designers and how they started. And why did I decide to do that? Well, it’s simple, I was curious because I know the name of the brands, like everyone else, but, I didn’t know the story behind it! I mean, I have some highlights, but nothing in concrete. And as you already have seen, in the previous posts (if not, take a look), I LOVE to do some research and see how everything was in the past! And to inaugurate this series of posts, let’s talk about Givenchy. Well, Givenchy was founded in 1952 by Hubert de Givenchy (63 years ago). His debut collection was a hit, where featured separated pieces such as long skirts and tailored tops. In the 60’s he started to set new trends and to embrace aspects of youth culture. Givenchy, started to design to many celebrity clients, including Audrey Hepburn, with whom he became really close, and to Jacqueline Kennedy and Princess Grace of Monaco. After selling his business in 1988 to Louis Vuitton, he designed for seven more years, retired and presented is final collection in 1995. So now, take a look at the pictures to see the evolution. More posts are coming soon!
Portanto, agora vejam a evolução e esperem pelas próximas publicações!
Lovely post! So often that we follow the brands but forgot about their origins!

The vintage pictures are great, I love the 50s silhouette, so gorgeous to look at. Maybe horrible to wear, but you have to make some sacrifices.

Givenchy is actually the first ever designer I loved. I’m a fan ever since I watched the movie “Funny Face” where all Audrey Hepburn’s dresses there where designed by him 🙂 It’s so elegant and timeless.
